Leavenworth, in Chelan County, is surrounded by the Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forest, home to the Alpine Lakes, Henry M. Jackson, and Glacier Peak Wilderness areas.
The Icicle River drainage (follow Icicle Road to the south and then west of Leavenworth), with many trailhead parking areas, campsites, and public campgrounds, is the start of many Alpine Lakes Wilderness adventures. The Enchantment Lakes Basin is a popular backcountry destination.
To the north is the Lake Wenatchee Recreation Area, the town of Plain, and the Glacier Peak Wilderness. And don't forget Fish Lake!
Whether you're into fishing, snowmobiling (see the snowmobile trail map, below), hunting, hiking, camping, climbing, cycling, the list goes on...it's all here.
So these are just a few of the places to see. Go ahead and explore...we'll let you!
